Spray Foam Tank Insulation
Closed-cell polyurethane spray foam rated R-6.7 per inch: 2″ standard, with 3″ or 4″ available, sealed with a UV-protective white mastic.
We offer insulated tanks. The insulation is a spray-on closed cell Polyurethane foam that is normally applied with a 2″ thickness but we can go to 3″ or 4″.
The R-value of the closed cell insulation is rated at 6.7 per inch. That gives an overall R-value of over 13 for the two inches that are applied.
The insulation is coated with a white mastic sealant that gives UV protection to the foam. A mastic is used so it will stretch when the tank expands and contracts during temperature changes.
Heat Tracing is very often chosen in combination with insulation on our tanks. With Heat Tracing, electrical heat pads can maintain a minimum temperature of the liquid inside the
tank.
